The Welfare has a variety of rooms offering varying capacities and facilities, making us the perfect venue for your private event. With seven separate spaces (see list below) we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Main Auditorium

A versatile main hall suitable for a variety of events. Seating capacities are as follows:
200 cabaret style (tables and chairs)

300 theatre style (rows of chairs)

400 standing room only

Rates for this depends on the type of event and number of facilities required.

Starting from £25 – £40 for a stage rehearsal up to £195 plus for a profit-making venture. Please speak to a member of staff who will provide accurate figures for your event.

Lesser Hall
A substantial sized hall with kitchen bar facilities including fridge, kettle and microwave. Suitable for conferences, meetings and parties
Prices range from £25 – £60

Bar/Function Room

A small licensed bar with comfortable seating arrangements and room for specific seating layouts if required. Suitable for informal parties or gatherings and formal meetings. Accommodates a capacity of 60 people, 50 if a band is performing. A small kitchen is adjacent with limited facilities however offers adequate room for storage.
Prices range from £35 – £70 with an additional charge for the use of the kitchen facilities.

Committee Room
Located on the first floor therefore not suitable for people with mobility problems.
Can accommodate meetings or classes of up to 18 people.
Prices range from £12.50 – £25

Dressing Room 2

A very small dressing room suitable for an intimate/informal meeting of up to 3 people.
Prices range from £7 – £15

Dressing Room 3

A larger dressing room suitable for meetings or gatherings of up to 10 people.
Prices range from £10 – £15

Foyer Area

Suitable for temporary displays or a table set up to sell craft/produce items.
Prices range from £10 – £20

Additional facilities for your conference are available on request, such as Internet access, audiovisual equipment and technical facilities. Supplementary charges may apply, please check with Box Office at time of booking.

With the exception of the Committee Room, all our other facilities are on the ground floor and are accessible to disabled patrons. This includes a disabled toilet, wide corridors and doors able to accommodate a wheelchair.
